Books looks very useful - it is smaller than I expected (my fault - just assumed it was "piano book" size and didn't check the description), but not a problem. I do wish I'd spent the extra money for the spiral edition, to make it more practical for use.
This book contains a nice collection of traditional gospel songs with the first few measures given for each song. Unfortunately, the complete melody isn't given. If the song is not already known, then the reader will either have to find someone who knows it or go online where a sung version can probably be found. Was there a race to get to press? I honestly see no real reason why the full melody lines could not have been included. That said, the strength of this book lies in its careful delineation of the guitar chords used as well as some suggested chord modulations or phrasings that will delight the serious guitarist.
This book only has words and chords. There is no notation. As a music teacher, I perfer the music staff with notes, time signature, and chords to teach full musicianship. This book is not usable for me.
Smaller book but EXCELLENT AND EASY. ONE OF MY FAVORITES.
I bought this book to play on my autoharp. It is easy to read and understand.
The Songbook was OK, but didn't have complete music for each song. Unless one knows the song already, it is nearly impossible to play a selection. Thankfully I know enough of the songs to enjoy a majority of the book. In addition, the chord form charts might have been printed a bit bigger. I would classify this item as a song "handbook", not songbook, even though the term "little" was used in the Description.
This book has very nice variety of songs. My son really liked it.
This songbook is the size of a regular paperback so it is a bit difficult to hold open on a music stand, but it does have the great old standard hymns.
