Sweet, simple book with Tomie dePaola's illustrations which are always loved by children. Great addition to any Jewish household, synagogue library or any collection looking to cover many religions for small children. Very happy with purchase.
Sure, Tomie De Paola is a famous author. But that doesn't mean that every book is a hit. This book is a decent overview--there are no details...i.e. (The Haggadah) "tells us the story of Passover." Nu? So where is the story? OH... second to last page, where there is one sentence "We celebrate Passover to remember when Moses led the Hebrew people out of slavery in Egypt." But there is no picture that shows this exciting event!If you are only going to buy one Passover board book, make it "My First Passover Board Book" by DK Publishing.... excellent pictures, details on all aspects, and real life pictures. You can adapt it to younger kids by skipping stuff... and it still makes sense.
Passover is coming up soon. So happy that I have this book ready for my granddaughter. She is really young for it this year. We will read it to her and get an early star on her for next years enjoyment.Tomie dePaola always has nice books.
Perfect Passover book for a young child. Tells the story clearly, nice illustration, short and sweet. I liked the simplicity and lack of cartoon characters and commercialism.
