As usual, Dr. Perricone is a Scientist I can trust. This book is a Master Piece! In answer to the only person that didn't give it an excellent rating, I'll state the reason why she/he didn't interpret it the way I did, which I hope it will help you in reading this book. Dr. Perricone is a Scientist and although scientific language can get to be hard to understand, Dr. Perricone does a fantastic job in using scientific language but at the same time explaining well for the rest of us (non-scientists)! When you are reading a book like this or any other technical work, Read those scientific descriptions and move on. Seek for the main idea of the paragraph or section. Dr. Perricone will follow with what he is getting at in such a simple way as no other. The technical part is necessary, at least to me, not because I'm passionate about how to spell these weird difficult to pronounce and spell difficult words but because it gives credibility. If a person tells me or I read that someone says that "X" fruit from France does wonders in your skin, I'll say, what proof or what kind of research you have done to come up with that. Even further, the word "research" does not give it credibility. A research study has to follow certain guidelines, example two groups, one expose to what they are testing and another a placebo (water pill) and they don't know what they are getting, the size of the group and other factors. This is why I trust Dr. Perricone, he is a true scientist.So, back to the main idea in the book. He is letting us know that this field of Nutrigenomics, in a simplistic way, the things that you choose to eat will give your body "instructions" on how to behave and also inter-act with other nutrients. I'm not done reading the book yet but it has impacted me in a very strong favorable way. The information about Pycnogenol has been great. I have been taking 1200mg of Ibuprofen daily and since I read his information about the research studies for Pycnogenol, I have discontinued the Ibuprofen and started taking 100mg of Pycnogenol and 4mg of Astaxanthin. (I go back to 600mg of Ibuprofen every "far" and then when my back hurts too much.)

I read this book when it first came out and found it to be thought-provoking, but difficult to adhere to because of the lack of availability of the vitamins and nutrients Dr. Perricone advocates. Several years later, with a glut of research to support his then outrageous and preposterous claims, health food stores, vitamin shops and even Walmart carry a wide range of products that support his theories.Having more or less followed his recommendations for about eight years myself, I constantly hear comments like, "You can't possibly be 66! You look more like 50 maybe" Well, I'll take 50! My skin does look good. But more than that, his diet recommendation is also anti-inflamatory, which certainly helps with the pain of auto-immune disorders like arthritis and fibromyalgia.If you are interested in improving your all-over health, give this book a read.

I liked this book, but his first book about looking younger, "The Wrinkle Cure," was the best. All his books are filled with technical explanations and the advice he gives will work if you can stick with it. People complain his diet is expensive and, at first, it is. But then your appetite fades and you don't eat as much salmon, saving yourself some money. Plus, he does mention that eating a small can of anchovies is cheap and very effective. Although not appetizing, I eat a can three to four times a week, each costing $1.89. My skin looks great!

This is my all-time favorite book of any type. It is my first Perricone book. I have now bought six or seven copies, including gifts and loaners that friends have kept. The content is interesting to a wide variety of readers, from my nephew in his twenties to my men and women friends in their thirties to sixties. The content covers Dr. Perricone's recommendations on everything from green tea, breakfast, super foods, spices, supplements, microcurrent skin treatments, and more. There is a very important chapter on menopause, its effects on aging, and suggestions for managing them. This book will help you separate truth from hype. This is a good book to read and then keep on hand for reference.

We have read 2 of his other books. Although the info may be informative, we should have stopped at one. It is an unapologetic advertisement to sell you his line of expensive nutrients that may or may not provide the promised effect.

Dr. Nicholas Perricone's book, "Forever Young" offers so much to the Reader, in terms of being healthier, and even more attractive.I am a woman of 82 years old, I have been told, I look at least 15 years younger. His advice regarding what we should eat, sinceour body is our Temple, and we should treat it as such, is highly valued .I have watched Dr. Perricone on PBS Programs , in the Past, and learned on how to be "Forever Young", as my Reward!.Oh yes, I have very few wrinkles, could it also be attributed to the organic virgin olive oil, I grew up eating, being Italian?I have already lent his book out to my closest friend.

These books are a waste of time and money. Don't buy here; look for 'em at garage and thrift sales. Cuidate, CL Page
